| Emergency
breathing systems is another tool which will
assist you in ditching situations. The extra
minutes the purpose built compressed air
bottle gives you makes it worth its weight
in gold... but it may as well be made of
lead if you don't know how to use it
properly and safely.
The RHO Aviation EBS course will give you
the skills you need to be confident in using
your Emergency Breathing System, whatever
brand it is. The EBS course will teach you
the dangers of breathing compressed air and
how to safely avoid these dangers, how to
locate and activate the device underwater
whilst upside down and with no visibility...
and then after all that, escape the
aircraft! How's that!
If you are already equipped with EBS or
are thinking of acquiring the equipment and
you would like to try out the various
systems on offer then our training will give
you the confidence and knowledge you need to
use the systems safely. It will also allow
you to make an informed decision before you
buy. Our EBS course can be run by itself or
concurrently with a HUET course. (Please
note: If you want to undertake an EBS course
by itself, you must be familiar with HUET
procedures i.e. you must have completed a
HUET course at some time in the past.)

We use the Survival Egress Air (SEA) LV2
system - right - (which is used by the
US Navy, US Marine Corps and US Coast Guard)
and the Helicopter Aircrew Breathing Device
(HABD) - below - (as used by the Australian
Army) . The SEA LV2 is an excellent life
saving device and is considered a 3rd
generation emergency breathing system. The
SEA LV2 is cosmetically similar to the HABD
but its enhanced design and functionality
make it a superior system to any other
compressed air EBS on the market. The
benefit of the LV2 is the lower volume of
water to purge and the general ease
of use. Also, the mouthpiece can be fitted
in six different angled positions making it
easier to configure for each individual. Industry leaders
in EBS training and HUET. 'Use our equipment to master the skills and provide
you with the knowledge you need to go shopping for your
own systems'.
The SEA LV2 fitted in the new EBS holster integrates
well with the Switlik crew vest allowing for a
comfortable easily accessible fit. Talk to RHO Aviation
about your EBS solutions. We can recommend systems and
deliver training packages that will integrate into your
organisation seamlessly. Use our equipment to master the
skills and provide you with the knowledge you need to go
shopping for your own systems. HUET and EBS will save your
like and help you egress.
The RHO Aviation EBS course uses the specially
engineered HeliPET procedural trainer for its training.
The HeliPET allows all axes impact scenarios, dual
person configuration and cross-cockpit/cross-cabin
drills as well as push out exits and hatches with
jettison handles. The HeliPET is a state-of-the-art
procedural trainer well suited to EBS training allowing
excellent instructional functionality. HUET is the key.
The US Coast Guard and US Navy prefer not to use HUET
simulators for their EBS training preferring a
disorientation device for safety reasons. The HeliPET
builds upon and enhances the benefits of this type of
training. When RHO Aviation looked at supplying
Helicopter Underwater Escape Training to the aviation
and associated industries, we looked at various systems.
Testimonials
“Having that HEED III (a version of EBS) was probably
the most important piece of equipment that I used that
day, because it gave me three important things. It gave
me confidence, time and it performed flawlessly
inverted, in rough seas and jet fuel."

Leesmand, Helicopter Pilot
I had the distinct luck to be wearing an “EBS" bottle
on the night that my helicopter experienced a material
failure and crashed at sea. As with most pilots, I
completed all training, but never expected to use your
equipment because my aircraft would never fail me! I
guess my luck ran out on this night. My wife and I thank
God for the HEED bottle. I have no doubt that without
EBS this letter would have never been written! God
Bless,
